STP is Back!

Scott Weiland and the Stone Temple Pilots are back! I was in Seattle in '94, the height of the Grunge Era, when they hit it big. Will be interesting to see what they come up with next.

Ikea Hack.

Two salad bowls from Ikea joined to form the "Live Performance Speaker Sphere," used to recreate the sound of an acoustical instrument, designed by Michael Zbysznski, assistant director of Pedagogy at the Center for New Music & Audio Technologies (CNMAT) at UC Berkeley.





Lara Holland, at home in Mound, Minn. Holland takes IKEA furniture and repurposes it into other things, like the vanity/cabinet in her bathroom.

While cruising around sightseeing with the gang in Scotland, DJ Neeps was playing the great beats, as usual. Never heard of them until now, but I will mostly be listening to Gravenhurst this winter. Dreamy, space music with beautiful & haunting melodies.

Verve is Reforming!

I am stoked! One of my all-time #1 albums (CD's)
is "Urban Hymns". A modern day classic on par with Dark Side or any Zep album of yesteryear. The music is haunting, beautiful & melodic. Blah, Blah, Blah. Singer, Richard Ashcroft, made a few solo albums but not as powerful as the Verve debut.

Edith Piaf Live in Paris.

My good friend, Ms. Cadiz had the great priviledge of seeing Edith Piaf live in Paris in the mid-50's. We had a glass of vino and listened to some of her fabulous Parisian tunes.

2007 Kool new music!

I have been listening to some interesting new stuff. One band...The Silversun Pickups, which remind me, personally, of old Smashing Pumpkins, from the early "grunge era". The other, Black Angel, which is remniscent of, perhaps, Spaceman 3, or some other fabulous Psychedelic-Space-Rock-Hipee-Band. Give a listen!

Whatcha Want ? ?

At the last minute, they announced a surprise Beastie Boys show at one of my favorite
Classic Seattle venues, The Crocodile Café. Would I have loved to have been there!! My first Beasties show was @ the 1994 Lollapalooza at the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State. An awesome show it was. If you ever get a chance to see a show at either venue, go for it.
