GPS? Bored? Go Geocaching!

Geocaching is a wierd and wonderful sport. So, here is how it works...Geocaching is an outdoor sport that involves the use of a Global Positioning System ("GPS") receiver to find a "geocache" (or "cache") placed anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small, waterproof container containing a logbook and "treasure", you take something from the cache you locate, and you leave something and bury it back up again, or hide it again.

Our friends are really into it, so we went along on one of their adventures. They looked online, we were in Ballard, Washington. The closest geocache site was near Sunset Beach. We all jumped in the car and went to a park. The GPS told us that the cache was down the hill in the woods somewhere. We located it in about 7 minutes. It was in the form of a cooking pot with a lid, partially buried and under some leaves. The cache was filled with all sorts of kool stuff, music cds, marbles, useless bits of old, chewed up Ken dolls and such.

We rummaged through the cache for about 10 minutes. Added our own trinket, a carved, marble bear & we buried it back up for the next Geocache dudes.

Gingerbread Sexy
