Milanese Metal

Headed down to the Croatian Cultural Center, for a great band from Milano, Italy, called Lacuna Coil. They are metal veterans that have been around since 1994 or so. They have toured with the likes of Tool, G&R, Ozzfest & Rob Zombie. The show was super energetic, they really worked the crowd. Metal is still alive and well in Vancouver, BC ! ! !

Whatcha Want ? ?

At the last minute, they announced a surprise Beastie Boys show at one of my favorite
Classic Seattle venues, The Crocodile Café. Would I have loved to have been there!! My first Beasties show was @ the 1994 Lollapalooza at the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State. An awesome show it was. If you ever get a chance to see a show at either venue, go for it.

Gingerbread Sexy

Mrs. P and I thought it appropriate to make anatomically correct gingerbread cookies that we could eat to celebrate the season.

Moss Troopers in Scotland

Last fall, we took our first trip to lovely Scotland. Our family name belongs to the Scottish Reiver Clan. The Moss Troopers were part of that clan. Many of the Highland Lords complained of the moss-troopers' stealing their cattle and bringing military reprisals on the Highlands. Unfortunately, we did not come from metalsmiths & craftsman, which is a much more romantic notion.

Shoes over Jericho

KormaCurry & I were at Jericho Beach on a long walk last week. We saw a most peculiar site...a lady's shoes placed perfectly on a log, as though she had left them behind. Where was she? Who was she? Had she left her shoes behind and gone for a swim?
We will never know...
